At first this was uncomfortable for me, but I pushed through. Now I have a gazillion little notes to make sense of and transcribe. This book validated everything I already believe about the importance of storytelling. The added component of people with medical conditions being empowered to document their personal struggles brought a sense of purpose to the process. I guess when it comes down to it, sharing our stories in order to connect with and help others is what it’s all about.
And for me, the ability to internalize, communicate, and celebrate our stories is the most important of all human aspirations.
